Poem: As Food Grows Scarce

A quick little poem posted in response to Robert Lee Brewer’s Wednesday Poetry Prompt #114, 15 December 2010.

As Food Grows Scarce

As our global population continues to grow
some argue animals as food should stop.
Freezes and droughts wreak havoc on crops
and our food production continues to slow.
When trading our bodies for food is a necessary evil
just remember that “Soylent Green is People!”
