Poems: Gah, Work! (an exercise in poetic forms)

Poem created in response to Robert Lee Brewer’s 2011 April PAD Challenge: Day 12, 12 Apr 2011.

Gah, Work!
(an exercise in poetic forms)

(Lune)
Though necessary
stupid work
interferes with play

(Fibonacci)
I
guess
I’ll not
make it to
the gym today. Work,
as it is wont to do, has reared
its ugly head and smote the morn
which is when I like
to work out.
Ghastly,
Darned
work!

(Monotetra)
Fingers tap on the keys all day
I vainly try to make headway
listening to the bosses bray
All work, no play. All work, no play!

Fast and good, a double-edged sword
beating my head ‘gainst the keyboard.
Mission essential –Oh, good lord!
It’s my reward. It’s my reward??
