Poem: Welcome To The Rest Of Your Life

Poem created in response to Robert Lee Brewer’s Wednesday Poetry Prompt #136, 15 June 2011.

(form:  Triolet)

Welcome to the Rest of Your Life

Like it or not, your yesterdays are gone
Welcome to the rest of your life
It begins anew with every dawn
Like it or not, your yesterdays are gone
Bring or stow your bags, it’s time to move on
Less traveled?  Well-worn?  The pathways are rife
Like it or not, your yesterdays are gone
Welcome to the rest of your life

Unfortunately, I can never get enough of my yesterdays and I forget to live in the todays. Waking up is hard to do when I’m looking through the dreams of what the memories of yesterday have become. =/
