Teaser Tuesday: Children of the Night (one more time)

Teaser Tuesday post for 30 September 2014:

Children of the Night by Dan Simmons“Kat,” he had said, “the bad news is what my daddy taught me –namely, a good big guy can always beat the shit out of a good little guy.  I’m afraid that even when you get good at all this kicking and gouging stuff, you’ll always be a little guy.”

from Children of the Night by Dan Simmons

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This sounds like a much different book than what I usually read, but I think I’d enjoy it.
Here’s the link to my Tuesday post: SUMMERTIME.

It’s probably classified as horror because it deals with vampire mythology, but it’s neat the way Simmons managed to provide a lot of historical information on the “real” Dracula.

Interesting. I’m currently reading a book with vampire mythology too; I’m super spooked. I want to put it down but can’t! WHY!? Ha ha ha! Your teaser was great though; I can feel the intimidation

      This one isn’t too spooky.

I don’t know if I necessarily agree with that sentiment. But it sounds interesting, and I want to know why this “little guy” is training in the first place. Happy reading!
