Prompt: Endless Summer

Good Vibrations

Way cool jazz
at the local lounge
Summer nights
Sultry voice
Shared good vibes with the beauty
who’d become my wife

Poem: Oh, Edna

Poem created in response to Poetic Bloomings’ “An Entertaining Summer” Poem-A-Day event

Day 17, July 17th

Prompt: Quoting Writers and Poets in Summer

Oh, Edna

Why would one want
to be all seasons?
Winter is cold and stark
with people cowering
indoors with fires blazing.
Autumn, brilliantly coloured,
is the twilight of the seasons,
the nearing of hibernation
and death.
Spring, the rebirth,
is young and new,
but frought with rainy days
blown all a-twitter.
Summer is sultry and mature,
fully blossomed,
with long days
and hot nights.
So, why should I want you
to be all seasons
when summer is so perfect?

Poem: Summer Nights are Magical Times

Poem created in response to Poetic Bloomings’ “An Entertaining Summer” Poem-A-Day event

Day 16, July 16th

Prompt: Summer Magic

(form: shadormas)

Summer Nights are Magical Times

Summer nights
are magical times.
Shimmering
coronas
surround brightly glowing moons;
Heavenly bodies.

Summer nights
are magical times.
Cold, long neck
Coronas
slake the evening thirsts of
Heavenly bodies.

Summer nights
are magical times.
Moonlit hair
coronas
the face I timidly kiss;
Heavenly body.
